Long Beach Yacht Club is
offering invitations to challengers for the Walt Elliot Harbor Challenge Trophy
from all member clubs of the Association of San Pedro Bay Yacht
Clubs.
The date of the Walt Elliot
Harbor Challenge Regatta is May 11, 2013. The regatta will consist of three (3)
races to be run in Long Beach Harbor. All races will count towards a boat’s
total scores. The Notice of Race will be posted upon receipt of a challenge from
an ASPBYC-member club.
Each challenger must state in
writing, signed by a flag officer of their club, the class of boats to be sailed
or the handicap rule under which each yacht must be rated. If a handicap rule is
used, a rating must be established so that each challenging and defending yacht
does not have a rating more than five (5) percent higher or lower.
The
skipper of record and helmsman shall be a member in good standing of the
challenging yacht club he represents. Each boat shall fly its club burgee from
their backstay. Participating clubs shall also provide one person to serve on
the protest committee.
LBYC
is pleased to host this regatta and welcomes all challenging ASPBYC-member
clubs.
